Information about Ministerial Events I have Officiated

Rituals and ceremonies help us to embark upon new spiritual paths or to bring closure to passing events. In keeping with my mission statement, I am prepared to help people of every faith or of undecided faith to discover their inner peace and true potential with ceremonies and rituals of all kinds, to include weddings, blessings, transitional ceremonies, memorials and funerals. All services will be offered regardless of ethnic background, race, sexual orientation, age, gender or religious affiliation. I also have a ceremony to honor the returning military veteran. To find out more about these other ceremonies, please contact me.

Photos and testimonial notes from some events.

Denise and Clarkson were married in Washington DC in October, 2006. I played an improvisation on my flute for the processional. The sound rang through the buildings around us on this perfect afternoon. Denise wrote, "A very belated thank you for such a wonderful ceremony. Both Clarkson and I received numerous compliments on how beautiful the ceremony was and what a fabulous job you did. The weather was beautiful as was everything else. Thanks for making all the prelim stuff so much easier by completing so much over email. We have all six gotten settled in the new house and are adjusting well. I also wanted to thank you for playing the flute- I only wish I was there to hear more of it! The courtyard made it sound beautiful- THANK YOU. If ever you need a recommendation from us(though I'm sure you won't) don't hesitate to give out our phone number. Thanks again for making our day so special."

Jeanne and Alan met in a ballroom dancing course. At their ceremony, they chose to waltz in and waltz out of the ceremony. The effect was charming and joyous!

A note from July 7, 2007:
John,
Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our marriage, officiating over the ceremony, and for helping make it such a wondrous event. We will remember it & you forever!
Sincerely,
Tom & Nancy Ruble
PS Thanks also for your special calligraphy on the marriage certificate. We love it!

A note and photos from July 14, 2007 at the Wakefield Chapel in Annandale, Virginia:
"Dear John, I feel so blessed to have had the good fortune of finding you through Deirdre. Our ceremony is more beautiful and complete than I ever could imagine because of you. Thank you and all the best, with love, Julie and James"

A note about my clasical guitar and flute playing on August 5, 2007:

John,
Thank you for adding a special touch to the [bridal] shower. You were great!

My good friend Neel and his bride Nancy wanted a wedding ceremony in their own dwelling, attended by a small group of friends. They wanted elements of Hindu and Vedic spirituality, but a ceremony much shorter than the traditional Hindu ceremony. They had a good friend lead some chanting.

My good friend Karen waited many years to be able to have a horse, her companion, Trevor. This scene is from the blessing we constructed together and which I officiated at Trevor's stable. I was most proud to be a part of this truly beautiful event of trust, dedication and love.

This ceremony for Pilar and Ian was conducted at a wonderful Spanish Restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia.

This is a photo from the National Press Club where I played my alto flute for a meditation before an event of The Himalayan Institute.

This photo was taken at the New Year's celebration at the Unity Church of Fairfax, Virginia. I have played my antique Tibetan singing bowls for a number of occasions and the effect is always captivating, seductive and enriching for the senses.

I am also available for informal sing-along events and private parties.

Please call or email me for a consultation. I am sure I have the creativity to accommodate almost any need for a ceremony to honor your special occasion.
